On board the guided missile destroyer HMS Kent (1961) in No. 3 Basin in Chatham Dockyard, Kent. The photographer is in the operations room between 58 and 66 stations on 2 deck looking to port and slightly aft from just to starboard of the centreline at 63½ station showing a workbench with cupboards and drawers under and bookshelves above and an automatic emergency lantern fixed to a pillar in the right foreground. A visual display unit and the control console for the 3 inch rocket launchers are in the left foreground. The fleet stateboard, the A/S A/C stateboard and the fleet disposition board are against the aft bulkhead and the chart table is in the port aft corner. A plotting table is on the port side of the room. An automatic emergency lantern is by the side of the door in the port bulkhead.
