On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the fitting out berth at the West Cowes shipyard of John Samuel White & Co Ltd. The photographer is on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from 50 station showing the twin 21 inch trainable A/S torpedo tube mount between 47 and 49 stations. Further forward is the 27 feet motor whaler in its davits with the 14 feet RNSA sailing dinghy number 101, constructed in 1959, on deck cradles below it. On the building slip in the East Cowes yard in the background is the passenger ferry Sarnia (1961), yard number 2009. She was launched 6 September 1960.
