On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the fitting out berth at the West Cowes shipyard of John Samuel White & Co Ltd. The photographer is on 02 deck looking forward and up from 55 station on the port side abreast the 40 mm bofors gun showing the mainmast and foremast. The bofors gun is in the right foreground and the gun crew's shelter and ready use magazine are ahead of the gun. The mainmast is atop the gun crew's shelter and Type 944 radar is at the head of the mast. Angled 135° to port on the aft side of the mast is the A.M.A. aerial for type 954(1). On the port yardarm upper is aerial AJU1 for Type CUH/3 and lower is AJE1 for Type CUJ/2. On the starboard yardarm upper is aerial AJE1 for Type 691/3 and lower is AJE1 for Types 692/2 and 693/1. The ANS cheese aerial on the port side of the foremast is for Type 293Q radar and at the head of the foremast is the HD/DF coil. The 25 feet motor cutter is in its davits on the left.
