The photographer is in the steering gear compartment between 75 and 80 stations on 3 deck looking to starboard and slightly aft from the port side at 76½ station showing the front of the Brown Bros & Co Ltd steering engine. A Brown Bros & Co Ltd instruction board on how to operate the steering telemotor charging, circuit and bypass valves is fitted to the front of the engine. Armoured hoses are stored in a rack under the deckhead inside the wire cage which surrounds the steering engine.
