The photographer is in the senior officer's day cabin between 35¼ and 38¼ stations on the port side of 1 deck looking forward and to port showing the curtained opening into his sleeping cabin. The dining table and six chairs are in the centre of the day cabin and three other chairs can be seen. Against the port side of the ship are an electric convector heater, a framed photograph of the tank landing ship Striker (1945), the ship's crest of the Striker (1945) and a framed photograph of a submarine depot ship, either Forth (1938) or Maidstone (1937).
