On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the senior rates dining hall between 49 and 52 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard and slightly forward. Tables are set athwartships and the table tops and chairs are covered for protection. Workers' materials including rags, a tin of abrasive cleaning paste and a paint pot are on the tables. An electric fire is against the forward bulkhead.
