On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the hangar between 49 and 57 stations on 1 deck looking forward from 53 station showing a stack of wooden packing cases labelled 'NATO No. 4240/99/520/7399 breathing apparatus self contained compressed air' on the deck against the missile hoist. A cleaning tank and a flight foul weather clothing locker are in the forward extension. A workbench equipped with two vices is on the right with a fire hose basket on the side of it and an hydraulic winch above it. An air conditioning unit is at the end of the workbench. Stairs leading up to the air electrical maintenance room are on the right.
