On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the hangar between 49 and 57 stations on 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from 57 station showing the missile hoist on the left with a stack of wooden crates in front of it. In the forward extension of the hangar are a cleaning tank, a flight deck foul weather clothing locker, a work bench fitted with two vices, an hydraulic winch, a rag tank and air conditioning unit under the stairs leading up to the air electrical maintenance room, a spare aircraft gear box (boxed) stowage, an aircraft air driven rescue hoist, a Wessex Mk 3 fittings box, a step ladder, a 12 rung ladder, a first aid cabinet and an high level shelf for spare rotor blades. Two fire extinguishers are in the right foreground.
