On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the hangar between 49 and 57 stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from 57 station showing an high level storage shelf, a rectifier, contactor box, fuse panel, spaces for an inflight refuelling hose, a pressure controller and a spare aircraft engine, a filing cabinet and an air conditioning unit against the port bulkhead. A fire extinguisher trolley, an hose and a rope netting are on the deck. A desk and cupboard are in the port forward corner between the missile hoist and the port bulkhead and shelves reaching up to the hangar roof are above the cupboard. A stack of wooden packing cases labelled 'NATO No. 4240/99/520/7399 breathing apparatus self contained compressed air' are on the deck against the missile hoist. In the forward extension of the hangar are a cleaning tank and a flight deck foul weather clothing locker. On the extreme right are an hydraulic winch and a workbench fitted with two vices.
