On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Londonderry (1958) alongside the west wall in the basin at Rosyth Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 7 July 1967 and completed 28 January 1970. The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 19 and 23 stations on 3 deck looking to starboard and slightly aft showing an air conditioning unit above lockers, an electric fire and boot lockers against the starboard side of the ship. A table and chairs are in the foreground and a teapot, cups, a bag of sugar and a tin of Nestle's ideal milk are on the table. An electric fire is fixed to a pillar on the right and a suitcase locker is next to it.
