The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking forward from 60 station just to starboard of the centreline showing two triple berth bunk units and two kit lockers on the right. A triple berth bunk unit, an oil tight scuttle and a row of kit lockers are on the left. An electric fire and a fire hose basket are against the forward bulkhead.
