On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the hangar between 49 and 57 stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from 54 station showing an hose bracket, a control gear box, a rectifier, an helicopter control box, an A/S mortar control junction box, cable stowage brackets and an high level shelf. The flying director officer's position is next to the partly open hangar door. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall. A vertical format negative.
