On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the switchboard room between 31 and 32½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to port showing various electrical units and boxes of rubbish against the aft bulkhead. Two fire extinguishers and an automatic emergency lantern are next to the door. A double cupboard and No. 1 rectifier, control and communication switchboard DC section, manufactured by William White (Switchgear) L, are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
