On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the 4.5 inch magazine between 23 and 27 stations on 4 deck looking to port from the starboard side at 24 station showing the cartridge hoist, shelves for general storage and bottle racks for 4.5 inch cartridges on the left. Against the forward bulkhead on the right are bottle racks for 4.5 inch cartridges and an expanded metal fronted rack for the stowage of rocket tails.
