On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the shipwright's workshop between 48¼ and 50¼ on the starboard side of 01 deck looking to starboard showing an old wooden workbench fitted with a woodworker's vice and with an electric kettle, picture frames and a box of rim locks on it. Next to the door are an automatic emergency lantern and a fire extinguisher. Against the starboard bulkhead is a cupboard fitted with a vice and two bottles of Fairy liquid are on it, as well as a G.E.C. electrical unit.
