On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the torpedo stowage compartment between 51¾ and 54¼ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from 54 station showing torpedo stowage cradles against the starboard bulkhead. Against the forward bulkhead are fittings for stowing extension rails, portable rails, depth charge connecting band securing rods, portable tie bars and a holding down saddle for a 600 lb bomb. Two torpedo loading trolleys are on the deck.
