On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the junior rates' dining hall between 52 and 56 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft from 53½ station on the port side into the servery. On the left is a cupboard with cutlery trays on top, two four-slice electric toasters above it and a cold water drinking unit next to it. Behind the cold water unit is a worktop with shelves under and a 4-gallon container of draught vinegar on top. On the right is a cold sweet counter with a worktop next to it.
