On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the switchboard room between 11½ and 14 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward and to port showing the Crompton Parkinson switchboard with at least 16 on/off circuit breakers. Against the ship's side are two large panels labelled C1 and C2 and six other boxes, two of which are labelled C1, two are labelled C2 and the other two are partly hidden and the labels cannot be seen.
