On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the senior rates' mess between 16 and 21½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward from 19 station on the port side showing a triple tier and a double tier bunk units against the port bulkhead. Two kit lockers are against the forward bulkhead with a Thermotank air conditioning unit above them. On the right are coat hooks and a mirror on the backs of a triple tier bunk unit and two kit lockers. A vertical format negative.
