The Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959). In the marine engineer officer's cabin between 30¼ and 31¾ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the marine engineer officer's cabin between 30¼ and 31¾ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking to port showing a wardrobe to the right of the door and an electric fire to the left. Against the aft bulkhead are a desk, a chair and a combination safe. When built this was the 1st lieutenant's cabin. However, the stencilled index in photograph albums ALB1554 to ALB1557, which contain master prints from these negatives, lists this as the marine engineer officer's cabin (see negatives N67244 - N67246).
