On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking aft and slightly to starboard from 37 station on the starboard side of 01 deck showing the flag locker and a cable reel abreast the davits of the 27 feet motor whaler. The canvas cover to the flag locker is rolled up to reveal the signal flags in their respective pigeon holes.
