On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the main passageway (known as the Burma Road) between 16 and 23 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port from 19½ station showing a fire main, hose basket, telephone, transformer and cable stowage against the gun bay on the left. The canteen is on the right and a water cooling unit and an international compressed air breathing apparatus Mk. 2 locker are against the port side of the ship. A vertical format negative.
