On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is at 61 station on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward showing the bulkhead of the torpedo maintenance room next to the half open hangar door. The door to the torpedo maintenance room is closed but not clipped. Fire main sprinkler system valves for the torpedo maintenance room and the torpedo stowage compartment are to starboard of the door. Three floodlights and the ventilation system exhaust vents are above the torpedo maintenance room at 01 deck level and the line of horizon lights is above these. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall.
