On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is looking forward from 46 station on the starboard side of 01 deck showing the 27 feet whaler in its davits between 39 and 45 stations on 1 deck. The whaler has a canvas cover. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall. A vertical format negative.
