The passengers and most of the crew were take off by both RNLI lifeboats from St Mary's and St Agnes and transferred to Lyonnesse for disembarking at St Mary's. The ship was refloated once temprary repairs had concluded to Holds 2 and 3, and the ship was towed to St Mary's before being taken to Southampton for repairs and a return to active service.
