A starboard bow view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Empress of Australia (1914) anchored in Isfjorden at Andalsnes, Norway.
A starboard bow view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Empress of Australia (1914) anchored in Isfjorden at Andalsnes, Norway. The photographer is in a boat close to the bow looking aft. Her port anchor is deployed, she has an accommodation ladder rigged amidships and two lifeboats are alongside it. Number 21 lifeboat has been launched and number 19 boat is swung out. The top of the ship's foremast is out of the picture. A caption on the negative says the ship is at Naes and this is the name frequently given to Andalsnes in tourist guides and is used in Baedecker's Guide to Norway and Sweden. Negative number P83698 was taken on the same occasion.
