The Type 81 frigate Gurkha (1960) in dry dock at Southampton. She was docked between 13 and 26 October 1962 for final hull cleaning and painting before her steaming trials. The photographer is on the floor of the dock on the centreline abaft the twin rudders looking forward showing the five bladed propeller. Each propeller blade is numbered and lined.
