A distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Empress of Australia (1914) at anchor in Holandsfjord, Norway. she has her port anchor deployed and has an accommodation ladder rigged to her midships shell doors. Lifeboat Number 21 has been launched and lifeboat Number 19 is swung out. One of her lifeboats is by the pilot ladder suspended from No. 1 boat station. The passengers are on a shore excursion to the Svartisen Glacier and the photographer is looking from the shore out into the fjord showing a number of the local motor fishing vessels anchored just offshore. some of them have tree branches on their decks and their fishery registration letters include N.116.R, N.131.R and N.84.L.
