The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on a crane alongside the berth looking to starboard and slightly forward between 68 and 90 stations showing the foremast and the forefunnel. The foremast is carrying type 978 radar on the lower projecting platform and type 992 radar on the upper platform. The top of the foremast is out of the picture. On the opposite side of the fitting out basin is the Cunard ship Franconia (1955), ex Ivernia, being converted to a combined cruise ship and transatlantic liner.
