The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on the quayside abreast 'A' turret looking aft and to starboard showing the port side of the ship from 'B' 4.5 inch Mark 6 mod. 1 gun turret to the stern. The ship's badge is on the bridge front. On the opposite side of the fitting out basin is the Cunard ship Franconia (1955), ex Ivernia, being converted to a combined cruise ship and transatlantic liner.
