On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is moored starboard side to the berth. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of 03 deck at 52 station looking forward showing B and A gun turrets and the forecastle. Berthed ahead of the London (1961) are the passenger/vehicle ferry Gaelic Ferry (1964) with the type 12 Leander class frigate Galatea (1963) outboard. The Gaelic Ferry (1964), yard number 2001, was launched 3 October 1963 and delivered 23 January 1964. The Galatea (1963), yard number 1935, was launched 23 May 1963 and completed 25 April 1964.
