On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the administrative office between 31 and 32½ stations on the port side of 3 deck looking to starboard showing a single pedestal desk with noticeboards, an automatic emergency lantern and a calender reading Wednesday March 5 above it. On a shelf on the left are an Olivetti 82 typewriter, an in tray and an out tray. Above the shelf are a cupboard and a Thermotank air conditioning unit with a note on it reading "The impossible we do at once, miracles take a little longer!". A vertical format negative.
