On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the transmitting station annexe between 28¼ and 31 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard showing a workbench with cupboards and drawers under and with cupboards above, under the deckhead. A number of electronic units, some Seacat manuals, a lever arch file and ring binders are on the bench. A telephone, a loudspeaker and switches are against the bulkhead.
