The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is looking aft in the air electrical maintenance compartment between 61¾ and 65 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck. He is standing on the workbench at the forward end of the compartment looking down showing the benches and shelves against the starboard and aft bulkheads. A cable stowage bracket, an electric fire, a fire extinguisher and two starter panels are against the port bulkhead.
