The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the engineer's and ordnance workshop between 61½ and 64 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and slightly to starboard from the doorway showing the Harrison universal machine in the centre of the workshop. A workbench with drawers below and fitted with a vice is against the ship's side. A broadcast loudspeaker and nests of small lockers are against the forward bulkhead.
