The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the junior rates dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to port from near the centreline at 56 station showing tables and bench seats set athwartships. Glazed front bookcases and a framed print of a painting of trees,water and hills are against the ship's side on the left.
