On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is by the base of the starboard GWS 21 director at 64 station looking to port and aft showing the simple tachymetric director and landing control officer's position between 64½ and 66 stations on 01 deck. The director is protected by a canvas cover and against the aft screen are the landing light control switches and the wind speed and direction indicators. The replenishment at sea tripod is aft of the screen and the Limbo Mark 10 mortar is on the left. Berthed in the background is the Netherlands Navy frigate Evertsen (1966).
