On board the ocean weather ship Weather Reporter (1944) while in the Firth of Clyde on passage from Greenock to the North Atlantic. The ship is stopped and the crew are engaged in lifeboat drill. The photographer is looking aft over the starboard rail showing the motor whaler swung out and lowered to deck level with five men in the boat. Some of the crew are playing cricket in the foreground. The ship sailed from Greenock at 10.00 on Tuesday 6th (February or March) 1962 for a 24 day deployment.
