On board the Royal Navy light cruiser Tiger (1945) in the North Atlantic off north-west Scotland during the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The photographer is looking forward and up from the starboard side of 01 deck on the Tiger (1945) showing the forefunnel and foremast. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe. Four escorts are in the distance.
