On board the Royal Navy type 15 frigate Ursa (1943) of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies) while under way in the waters off Barbados during an exercise involving both the 7th and 8th Frigate Squadrons. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck at 47 station looking to port and forward at the fore part of the Royal Navy Type 41 frigate Lynx (1955) of the 7th Frigate Squadron (South Atlantic). The Lynx (1955) is seen from abaft her starboard beam and is coming close alongside during a jackstay transfer. Only the fore part of the Lynx (1955) from the bow to the bridge is in the photograph and the pendant number F27 is on her hull. A large number on men are on the forecastle of the Lynx (1955) and three light lines have been passed between the ships.
