On board the Royal Navy frigate Rapid (1942) while under way racing against the destroyer Cavalier (1944) in the Firth of Forth. The photographer is on the starboard side of the open bridge at 01 deck level looking to port and slightly forward showing the ship's lifebuoy in the foreground. The Cavalier (1944) is to port and slightly ahead as the ships are racing to determine which of them can claim the trophy for the 'Fastest Ship in the Fleet'.
