Scale 1:48. Plan shows the sheer lines, longitudinal half breadth and body plan, as designed for the A-class destroyers. The title of this drawing is Destroyers 1927 Class Sheer Drawing. This drawing bears the signature of Sir William Berry, the Director of Naval Construction. This plan relates to the vessels Acasta (1929), Achates (1929), Acheron (1930), Active (1929), Antelope (1929), Anthony (1929), Ardent (1929) and Arrow (1929). A note on the plan states 'IN the case of HMS Acheron, these building drawings are modified by A. L. C. P. 7102/ (29 May 1928) and the approved drawings prepared to meet the provisions of this letter'. This plan bears the stamps and directors signatures of all the shipyards who would build the A-class destroyer. The drawing includes R. & W. Hawthorn Leslie & Co., dated 28 March 1928, John Brown & Company dated 26 April 1928, Scott's Shipbuilding dated 14 June 1928, Vickers Armstrong dated 26 March 1928, John I Thornycroft dated 18 October 1929 and PArsons Marine Turbine Company dated 30 October 1929.
