On board the Royal Navy frigate Rapid (1942) during the Maritime Air Defence Exercise Highwood which took place in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea. The photographer is on the starboard side of 01 deck looking to starboard. Steaming alongside the Rapid (1942) for a jackstay transfer is the frigate Keppel (1954). She is a member of the 9th Frigate Squadron and everything forward of her funnel and aft of her Limbo mortars is out of the picture. Steaming in the background and seen from just ahead of her starboard beam is the destroyer Cavalier (1944), pendant D73. The horizon is not quite level.
