On board the Royal Navy commando carrier Bulwark (1948) during a replenishment at sea with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Resurgent (1950) while under way at sea in the Eastern Mediterranean during NATO Exercise Deep Furrow, an amphibious landing in north-west Turkey involving forces from the United States of America, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and Turkey. The photographer is on the starboard aft end of the flight deck looking forward and to starboard with the LCVP davits in the foreground and a line of Land Rovers is parked on deck abaft the island. The Resurgent, pendant A280, is close alongside, seen from off her port quarter, and a pallet of stores is being transferred by jackstay. Her aft end is out of the picture.
