A distant stern view of the Royal Navy frigate Charybdis (1968) under way during exercise Sally Forth in the North Sea off the Firth of Forth. Her pendant number is F75 and she is the leader of the 1st Frigate Squadron. She has fired her Limbo mortar ahead and to port and the subsiding splash of the bomb can be seen in the left background. She has a VDS well in her stern and is heading away from the photographer, who is on board the guided missile destroyer Bristol (1969).
