A starboard quarter view of the battlecruiser HMS Courageous (1916), flagship of the Reserve Fleet, underway in Portsmouth Harbour. To the left is part of the starboard bow of one of the harbour paddle tugs behind which is the aircraft carrier HMS Vindictive (1918) after conversion from a cruiser. The starboard quarter of another tug is on the right of the image with the stern of a surrendered German U-boat off its starboard side.
