Mistletoe

Recreation vessel, sailing dinghy, X One-Design called 'Mistletoe'. This dinghy was originally called 'Grebe'.

The'Mistletoe' is a wooden carvel built yacht of pitch pine planking on bent oak timbers, copper nail/rove through fastened. The deck is covered with a painted calico membrane. There is an open cockpit, square ended aft, with coaming converging to a pointed forward end. There is a deep cast-iron ballast keel. The interior is open plan and unfurnished, with a bulkhead and storage locker aft. Lath-topped side seats are fitted to both sides of the after portion of the cockpit with small storage trays incorporated into each seat. A set of removable floors are fitted within the cockpit. Construction is light but strong with no excess furniture or fittings.
