Three army medical personnel tending a figure on a stretcher, 1914-18
original art: drawing. This watercolour study was probably done while watching a field exercise, with the 'casualty' being a volunteer. The medical orderly or stretcher-bearer on the left wears a green cap rather than the khaki of the other two and takes the casualty's pulse. The much decorated sergeant on the right is presumably senior to him, possibly one of the Royal Army Medical Corps. The man with the moustache between them is presumably the second stretcher bearer.
