The 1914-1918 seamen's memorial on the Bryggen at Bergen, Norway.

A close view of the 1914-1918 seamen's monument on the Bryggen at Bergen, Norway. The monument consists of an old German horn mine made of iron. The mine sits on top of a concrete plinth that has two bronze reliefs embedded in it. One relief is of a fallen nude man and the other relief is of nude woman and child. Etched into one side of the plinth is: "1914-1918" and into the other side is: "Reist 6-2-1921". A cast plate on the mine reads "FORDUM TIL SJÖMANDENS JAMMER OG DÖD.
