The photographer is on the north side of the Waaigat entrance looking west-south-west showing a number of small sailing vessels of the floating market berthed on the De Ruyterkade. They have awnings rigged above their decks. Boxes of produce are stacked on the quay and beyond them are 2-masted schooners berthed on the Punda district quay.
